Islamabad: Special Judge Islamabad Central Humayun Dilaware on Monday granted interim pre-arrest bail to Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, the sister of actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, in connection with a case concerning the operation of an allegedly illegal clinic.
Dr. Abbasi, a dermatologist and TikTok personality, appeared in court along with her counsel Naeem Bukhari to file the bail application. The court approved her plea against a Rs50,000 surety bond, while instructing her to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The hearing was adjourned until April 15 for further proceedings.
Dr. Abbasi is under investigation in two separate cases registered by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), both linked to the alleged illegal clinic operations. She is also on bail in a money laundering case, with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) recently restoring her bail and directing her to approach the trial court for further proceedings.
This development follows the dismissal of Dr. Abbasi’s earlier pre-arrest bail plea by the special court due to her non-appearance. The court had noted that she had failed to appear despite the case being scheduled and rejected her medical grounds request, terming it a misuse of pre-arrest bail provisions.
Subsequently, Dr. Abbasi approached the IHC, which granted her interim relief, allowing her to seek medical assistance before trial proceedings commence. Authorities have emphasized that she must continue cooperating with investigators as the cases move forward.
