Los Angeles — Beloved Hollywood actor Michael J. Fox has reassured fans that he is alive and well after a media error briefly sparked widespread confusion about his death.
The “Back to the Future” star addressed the situation on social media with humor after a mistakenly published segment by CNN appeared to announce his passing. The now-deleted package, reportedly titled “Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox,” quickly spread online before being removed.
Fox Responds with Humor
Reacting to the shocking error, Fox joked about how one might respond to seeing their own death reported on television.
“How do you react when you turn on the TV and CNN is reporting your death?” he wrote, before listing humorous options, including calling loved ones or simply accepting it as an annual occurrence.
“I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me and I’m ok,” he added, signing off the message with “Love, Mike.”
CNN Issues Apology
Following the incident, CNN acknowledged the mistake and issued an apology.
A spokesperson confirmed that the segment had been published in error and was promptly removed, expressing regret to Fox and his family.
Ongoing Health Journey

In previous interviews, Fox has emphasized the importance of gratitude and acceptance in dealing with the condition, while continuing to pursue meaningful work and maintain a positive outlook on life.
