Pakistan Sets Up Media Facilitation Centre for Global Coverage of Islamabad Talks

Islamabad: The government of Pakistan has established a dedicated Media Facilitation Centre at the Jinnah Convention Centre to support both local and international journalists covering the high-profile “Islamabad Talks 2026.”

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced the development in a statement, assuring that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure smooth coverage of the crucial diplomatic event. He emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting would extend full support to media personnel.

The initiative comes as United States and Iran delegations arrive in the federal capital for high-stakes negotiations aimed at de-escalating tensions after weeks of conflict in the Middle East.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced a visa-on-arrival facility for delegates and journalists from participating countries. He stated that airlines had been instructed to allow boarding without visas, with immigration authorities issuing visas upon arrival in Islamabad.

However, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi clarified that this सुविधा applies strictly to delegates and journalists from the United States and Iran, and does not extend to third-country nationals.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described the ongoing talks as a “make or break moment” for regional and global peace, highlighting Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.

Meanwhile, the Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has already arrived in Islamabad. They were received by senior Pakistani leadership, including Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Mohsin Naqvi, along with top military officials.

The establishment of the Media Facilitation Centre reflects Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring transparent and effective global coverage of what could become one of the most significant diplomatic engagements in recent history.
