Iran has described ongoing negotiations with the United States in Islamabad as “busy and long,” highlighting the intensity of talks aimed at easing tensions between the two nations.
In a statement shared on social media, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that discussions have continued without interruption since Saturday morning.
According to Baghaei, the negotiations — taking place with mediation efforts led by Pakistan — have involved continuous exchanges of messages and proposals between both sides.
“The intensive negotiations that began from the morning of Saturday with Pakistan’s benevolent efforts and mediation have continued without interruption until now,” he said, adding that Iranian negotiators are fully committed to protecting the country’s national interests.
Baghaei emphasized that the Iranian delegation is using all available expertise and diplomatic experience to safeguard its rights, particularly in light of recent losses suffered during the ongoing conflict.
The talks come after weeks of escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, which have had far-reaching consequences for regional stability and global markets.
Pakistan has emerged as a key mediator in the crisis, hosting what are being described as high-stakes negotiations in Islamabad, with the goal of turning a fragile ceasefire into a lasting peace agreement.
Despite ongoing discussions, major differences remain between the two sides, and the outcome of the talks is still uncertain. However, the continuation of dialogue signals a willingness from both parties to pursue a diplomatic resolution.
