US President Donald Trump has said he could travel to Islamabad if a deal with Iran is signed there, signalling possible high-level engagement in ongoing diplomatic efforts mediated by Pakistan.
Trump suggested that Pakistan may host a key stage of negotiations, adding that if no agreement is reached with Iran, fighting would continue. He also indicated that the next round of talks could take place over the weekend.
Speaking about the ceasefire process, Trump said progress was being made and noted that Iran is now willing to consider options it had previously rejected. However, he added that he was not certain whether the ceasefire would need to be extended.
The remarks come as diplomatic efforts intensify to reduce tensions in the region, with Pakistan playing a mediating role between Washington and Tehran.
While details of the proposed agreement remain unclear, Trump’s comments suggest that negotiations are still ongoing and remain fragile, with both sides yet to reach a final settlement.
The situation continues to develop, with further talks expected in the coming days as international pressure grows for a lasting ceasefire and broader diplomatic resolution.
