Pakistan, Turkiye, and Egypt Reaffirm Cooperation Ahead of Regional Peace Initiative

ISLAMABAD – In separate meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday, the foreign ministers of Turkiye and Egypt reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.

The meetings were held on the sidelines of a two-day quadrilateral gathering of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt. This mechanism is viewed as a key diplomatic track supporting broader efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, aligning positions ahead of possible U.S.-Iran talks, and facilitating dialogue.

During the bilateral session with Turkiye, Deputy PM Dar and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation across all sectors of mutual interest. Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explored avenues to strengthen the longstanding strategic partnership between the two nations.

The discussions also covered recent regional developments, including the evolving situation in Iran, with both sides emphasizing dialogue and sustained diplomatic engagement as essential to promoting peace and stability. The Foreign Office noted that the ministers reiterated their unwavering support for each other’s core national interests and agreed to maintain close coordination to further deepen the Pakistan-Turkiye strategic partnership.
