Trump Fires Attorney General Pam Bondi Amid Epstein Files Controversy

Washington, D.C. – Donald Trump has fired Pam Bondi as Attorney General, marking a major shake-up in his administration amid mounting criticism over the handling of sensitive Justice Department मामलों, including files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Bondi’s removal follows growing frustration within the White House over delays and controversies surrounding the release of Epstein-related documents, as well as failed prosecutions of several of Trump’s political rivals.

Trump announced that Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general, describing him as a “very talented and respected legal mind.” Blanche previously served as Trump’s criminal defense lawyer before joining the administration.

Despite her dismissal, Trump praised Bondi in a social media post, calling her a “great American patriot” who led a nationwide crackdown on crime. He added that she would soon transition to a role in the private sector.

Bondi, in a statement, said she would assist in transitioning leadership at the Department of Justice before moving on to a new position, adding she would continue supporting Trump and his administration.

Her ouster comes weeks after Trump also removed Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security, signaling increasing pressure within the cabinet.

Epstein Files Fallout

Bondi faced bipartisan criticism over her handling of Epstein-related documents. After initially promising full transparency, the Justice Department released limited material, sparking backlash from lawmakers and Trump allies alike.

A law spearheaded by Thomas Massie mandated the full release of Epstein files, but delays and partial disclosures led to further scrutiny. The House Oversight Committee has since subpoenaed Bondi to testify under oath regarding the matter.

Failed Prosecutions Add Pressure

The Justice Department also suffered legal setbacks under Bondi, including dismissed cases against James Comey and Letitia James. A federal judge threw out both prosecutions, citing issues with the appointment of the prosecuting authority.

Possible Replacement

Trump is reportedly considering Lee Zeldin as a permanent replacement. Some Republican lawmakers have already expressed support for the move, citing dissatisfaction with Bondi’s tenure.

As political tensions rise in Washington, Bondi’s firing adds to ongoing debates over the independence of the Justice Department and the handling of high-profile investigations.
