D4vd Pleads Not Guilty in Teen Murder Case as Shocking Details Emerge

American singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to multiple murder charges in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

The 21-year-old artist appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom for his arraignment, where his legal team entered the plea on his behalf. Burke did not speak during the hearing — his first public appearance since his arrest.

According to Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Burke faces several serious charges, including first-degree murder, murder for financial gain, and killing a witness linked to an investigation.

Prosecutors allege that the teenager visited Burke’s residence in April 2025 and was never seen again. Her remains were later discovered in September inside a vehicle registered to the singer, marking the beginning of a high-profile investigation.

District Attorney Nathan Hochman described the case as “a parent’s nightmare,” outlining disturbing allegations including attempts to conceal evidence and the victim’s role as a potential witness in an ongoing investigation.

The defence team, however, strongly denied the accusations, stating that evidence would prove Burke was not responsible for the teenager’s death. “We will vigorously defend his innocence,” his lawyers said.

Authorities revealed that the condition of the remains made it difficult to immediately determine the cause of death, delaying the investigation. Law enforcement officials also noted challenges in gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses over several months.

Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell defended the handling of the case, emphasising that investigators prioritized building a strong case over releasing early information.

The victim’s family has called for justice, stating they are committed to ensuring their daughter’s voice is heard throughout the legal process.

The case has drawn widespread attention due to Burke’s rising fame in the music industry. Known for hits like Here With Me and Romantic Homicide, he gained popularity through social media before launching a successful music career.

If convicted, Burke could face the death penalty, according to prosecutors. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence.
