PM Shehbaz Says Pakistan Earns Global Respect After US-Iran Peace Deal

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan’s name is now being spoken with respect around the world after the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which helped bring an end to the war between the United States and Iran.

Addressing the National Assembly on Friday, the prime minister said Pakistan had played a historic role in promoting peace and diplomacy during a tense period in the Middle East.

He stated that countries around the world were recognizing Pakistan’s contribution to regional stability and conflict resolution. According to the premier, the successful mediation effort has enhanced Pakistan’s international image and diplomatic standing.

Shehbaz Sharif said that if parliament adopted a resolution acknowledging the achievement, it would not only celebrate Pakistan’s success but also send a strong message of unity and solidarity to the international community.

The prime minister urged both government and opposition members to stand together on national issues, stressing that political differences should never overshadow Pakistan’s collective interests.

He praised the efforts of Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying he worked tirelessly over the past several months to help restore peace between the two countries. He also acknowledged the contributions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The premier further thanked opposition leaders, including Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, for supporting national efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

He concluded by saying that Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the US and Iran demonstrates the country’s commitment to diplomacy, regional peace, and constructive international engagement.
